Ravichandran Ashwin is currently gearing up for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against the Aussies. After that, reports came out that the tournament might get shifted to UAE from Pakistan, and if that happens, then the Men in Green will not come to India for the 50-over World Cup in India in 2023. Now, regarding that, Ravichandran Ashwin came up with his preferred country where he will like to shift the Asia Cup.

“The final call might be that the Asia Cup will be moved to Sri Lanka.” - Ravichandran Ashwin

After the meeting, in its official statement, the ACC said: "The ACC had a constructive dialogue on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The Board agreed to continue discussions on operations, timelines, and any other specifics with a view to ensuring the success of the tournament. An update on the matter would be taken on the next ACC Executive Board Meeting to be held in March 2023".

Now, while speaking on his official YouTube channel, Ashwin said: “Asia Cup was supposed to take place in Pakistan. But, India has announced that if it takes place in Pakistan, then we won't be participating. If you want us to participate, then do change the venue. But we would have seen this happen many times, right? When we say Asia Cup won't go to their place, they will say that they will also not come to our place. But however, I think that is not possible."

"The final call might be that the Asia Cup will be moved to Sri Lanka. This is an important lead-up to the 50-over World Cup. Many tournaments have taken place in Dubai. I would also be pleased if it is moved to Sri Lanka." However, after such a statement, fans came up with some tweets about Ravichandran Ashwin. Some of them also claimed that he should not get any chance to play for India in that tournament wherever it will take place eventually.

Here are some tweets by fans for Ravichandran Ashwin after his opinion about the Asia Cup 2023 went viral:
