Team India will be in action on 6 August 2023 when they will take on West Indies in the second game of the ongoing five-match T20I series. They lost the series opener and now, will look to bounce back. However, Kyle Mayers has been having a poor run of form with the bat. In the three-match ODI series, Mayers scored 42 runs.

Then, in the first T20I, he scored just one run. Now, ahead of the second game, in a video by the broadcaster, Mayers was asked whether Virat Kohli's or Rohit Sharma’s wicket will be more precious for him. In reply to that, the Windies opener shared his verdict and listening to that, fans shared their views on social media.

Mayers said: “I think Kohli (wicket would be more precious than Rohit's). Any bowler would want to dismiss Kohli, the best player across all three formats." He also said about the aggression of Kohli and the banter between them. "It great. I think you need to take a chance to get at the opposition, anything you can possible get out of the game. Being aggressive and having courage shows the willingness to get your team across the line," Kyle Mayers concluded.

However, Mayers was a part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team that faced Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023 where Kohli had a fight with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir. Speaking of the first match, the Men in Blue lost the game by four runs but skipper, Hardik Pandya defended the team during the post-match presentation. Pandya said: "We were right in the chase. We made some errors which cost us, but it is fine. A young team will make mistakes. Throughout the game, we were in control. I have always believed that in T20 cricket, if you lose wickets, it becomes difficult to chase down a total. When we lost a couple of wickets ... it cost us."
