2023 is going to be a hectic year for all the nations as the year is filled with a lot of cricket actions. The biggest tournament of the year will be the 2023 ODI World Cup which will be played in October and India will be the host. Fans will also witness the Asia Cup, however, the schedule is yet to be released because of the ongoing dispute between the Indian Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Meanwhile, great news has come for the fans as an online streaming app Disney+Hotstar is set to provide the live stream of the ODI World Cup 2023 and Asia Cup for free in India. However, the service is only for mobile users, especially those who are unable to enjoy the match due to traveling or busy schedules. 

Brilliant move by Disney+Hotstar

The initiative to remove the paywall for mobile-only viewers of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, according to Disney+Hotstar, is intended to further democratise cricket and make it available to as many mobile users in India as possible for the length of the season. Meanwhile, the head of the app, Sajith Sivanandan revealed that the platform remained at the forefront of the industry.

“Disney+ Hotstar has remained at the forefront of the rapidly evolving OTT industry in India and the various innovations we have introduced to continue enhancing the viewer experience has allowed us to delight our audiences across the region. Making the Asia Cup and Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup available to a wider audience, we believe, will help us grow the overall eco-system,” Sivanandan was quoted as saying by News Drum.

Talking about the Indian team, who are currently in action in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final at the Oval, they are in a trouble situation as the Australian scored 469 runs in the first innings and coming to bat, the Indian team have already lost 5 wickets on the scored of just 151 runs and still trailing by 318 runs.
