On 1 May 2023, fans witnessed a bust-up between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir after the completion of the LSG vs RCB clash in IPL 2023. Both of them got involved in an ugly verbal spat. As a result, they got fined 100% of their match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Now, days after the fight, Rajat Sharma, a popular TV news anchor came up with a dig at Gautam Gambhir.

While being Live on air, Rajat said: “Gambhir has been provoked. After fighting the elections and becoming a Member of the Parliament, Gambhir’s ego has increased even more. How Virat Kohli’s popularity worries Gambhir was witnessed yet again, clearly on the ground. Kohli is a player who is always aggressive, doesn’t tolerate any nonsense and so he gave Gambhir an apt reply.”

Here is the shared video and the tweet in reply from Gambhir:

“In all, what Gambhir did is against the sportsman spirit. This behaviour is not befitting of a former India player and a current Member of Parliament. Such incidents ruin the reputation of cricket and should not have happened,” he further added.

In reply to that, Gambhir came up with a tweet on 3 May 2023. He wrote: “Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket citing “pressure” seems over eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! यही कलयुग़ है जहां ‘भगोड़े’ अपनी ‘अदालत’ चलाते हैं। (This is the Kalyug where the 'fugitives' run their 'court').”

Meanwhile, Rajat Sharma was the president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association from 2018 to 2019. Due to the vested interests among other DDCA members, he resigned from that post. Seeing such a tweet from the former Team India cricketer, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform. Gambhir indirectly took a dig at Rajat Sharma’s TV show ‘Aap ki Adalat‘ (The court of the public) by using the adalat (court) reference in the tweet.
