The Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series commencing Thursday has seen an action-packed build-up. First, Australia denied playing a practice game, choosing to go for an extended training camp focusing on facing Ashwin's off-break deliveries. They flew in a 'duplicate' bowler named Maheesh Pithiya to Bengaluru to help as a net bowler. Ex-India Cricketers Wasim Jaffer and Harbhajan Singh had already added to the pre-series drama.

This time it's Cricket Australia's official Twitter handle participating in the banter battle with a reminder video of India's horror show of 36 all-out at Adelaide in the last series away from home. Former India Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra joined the banter party and reminded fans of the final score-line of the series.

Here's the tweet:

Notably, India has won the last two Test series away from home against the Aussies. The BGT ‘23 would be India's last chance to qualify for the finals of the Global Test Championship. The Indians are, therefore, expected to extend their best efforts. Meanwhile, the visitors will try to avoid a hattrick of series defeat against India in the game's longest format.

In the last series, the visiting Indian side went down in the first Test after being bowled out for just 36 after taking a first-innings lead of 53. It ended in an 8-wicket defeat for India. The visitors were quick to bounce back with an 8-wicket win in the second Test at the MCG, followed by a hard-fought draw at Sydney.

In the final Test at the Gabba, India started on the back foot, conceding a first-innings lead to pull off a memorable chase on the fifth and final day. The visitors chased down a target of 328 to clinch the series 2-1. It was the first time the Australians lost a Test match in Brisbane in the last 32 years. Notably, Ajinkya Rahane was the skipper for the team for the three final Tests, with the regular captain Virat Kohli on leave for his daughter's birth.
