Cheteshwar Pujara continued to show his brilliance in the ongoing first of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The 34-year-old has scored the second consecutive half-century in the second innings of the series opener against Shakib's men. Earlier in the first innings, the Rajkot batter played a crucial knock of 90 runs to help India reach a decent total of 404 runs.

Taking charge after KL Rahul's early departure in the second innings, Pujara took the charge to score another brilliant knock of 102 runs with boundaries to his name.

The Indian cricket fans are also overwhelmed following this brilliant individual knock from the Test veteran. They took to Twitter for lavishing praises on the veteran of 19 Test centuries.

Bangladesh could score only 150 runs in the first innings and lost all the wickets   While batting in the second innings, riding on the back of amazing centuries from Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara, India declared the second innings on the score of 258 runs for the loss of two wickets. Now, Bangladesh is required 513 runs to win the match in the fourth innings.

Khaled Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz ended up as the only bowlers to scalp the wickets for the hosts in the second innings. Both the bowlers took one wicket each.

Talking about the update of the match so far, India scored 404 runs in the first innings and went on to take a big 254 runs in the first innings.

Other than Pujara, a young Indian batter Shubman Gill also played an outstanding knock of 110 runs with 10 boundaries and three sixes to his name.

Following the conclusion of this first Test match, both teams will lock horns in the second and last of the two-match Test series at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. Indians are ought to win both matches to stay alive in contention for the World Test Championship Final 2023.
