MS Dhoni is the epitome of a calm cricketer. While fans and other players pulled their nails out in anxiety, Dhoni with ice in his veins remained unmoved. Many cricketers have gone on camera to say that Dhoni’s calmness is something that they want to emulate in their game.

This is why it came in as a huge surprise when Dhoni who is hailed as the calmest mind around, walked into the ground while challenging a no-ball call. The incident took place in the 2019 Indian T20 League game between Chennai and Rajasthan. Dhoni in the dying embers of the game walked into the ground when the umpire denied a no-ball and had a heated argument while millions of fans watched on, bewildered.

The former India captain was fined a match’s salary for his antics.

MS Dhoni graces this list again with his clash with the umpire in the 2012 Commonwealth Bank Series against Australia. The drama began when Dhoni stumped Mike Hussey and the decision was given to the fourth umpire.

The fourth umpire gave it an out but the on-field umpire called the Australian batter who was walking to the pavilion. This brought out a totally different emotion from the calm captain and he was seen having an animated talk with the umpire. Dhoni was absolutely fuming and also pointed fingers in what was one of the angriest moments.

Jacques Kallis, arguably the greatest all-rounder of all time, played the game with a grace that very few are able to emulate.

This is why his heated exchange with Kemar Roach in the third Test match against West Indies in 2010 caught everyone off guard. The incident took place when Roach bowled continuous bouncers to Kallis and ran at him. Roach and Kallis went head to head against each other and the other West Indies players and the umpire had to intervene to break off the fight.

Mahela Jayawardene has been a textbook calm cricketer, something that helped him play hundreds of long innings. The second T20I against Australia in Melbourne however brought out something that was never associated with the Sri Lankan batter.

The then Sri Lanka captain needing to save four runs in the last ball called in for a bowlers meeting which was not liked by the batter on strike Glenn Maxwell. The batter asked them to get on with the game which brought out furore from the whole Sri Lankan players along with Jayawardene.

Maxwell missed the last ball resulting in a Sri Lanka win and was understandably angry at the outcome. While shaking hands he showcased his dislike and Jayawardene was again seen giving back to the Australian batter.
