In an away all-format trip that begins next month, Team India will compete against the West Indies. The World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final between the Men in Blue and Australia ended in a humiliating setback for Rohit Sharma and his men. But they will be hoping to move past the setback and attempt to clean-sweep the West Indies.

The series will kick off on July 12 and 2 Test matches will be played between both nations. Some young players are selected for the Test squad. On that note, let's take a look at five Indian players to watch out for in the Test series.

Here are the top five players from India to look out for on the West Indies tour:

1. Rohit Sharma

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma will surely be a player to watch out for as he has been out of form for a while now. Rohit didn’t have a great outing in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He continued his poor form in the WTC final as well. However, he will have a great chance to bounce back against West Indies.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal

The 21-year-old young batter Yashavi Jaiswal might have his debut Test cap in the upcoming Test series. He might be batting at the no. 3 position as Cheteshwar Pujara isn’t included in the Test squad. Jaiswal was in red-hot form during IPL 2023 and also played well in domestic cricket as well. It’d be a great opportunity for him to prove himself on the international platform.

3. Mukesh Sharma

One of India's three backup pacers for the WTC 2023 Final was the Bengal pacer. He was selected for India's squad for the South Africa series last year, as well as the earlier this year series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, however, he was unable to play in either one. During the Windies tour, Mukesh has a fantastic chance to make his Test debut.

4. Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat was selected for the WTC final but couldn’t take part in the match due to an injury. However, he has recovered from the injury and is set to make a comeback in the Test format once again. He will be accompanying Mohammed Siraj as the 2nd pacer of the team.

5. Virat Kohli

Former India captain Virat Kohli recently got his form back but couldn’t deliver anything special in the WTC final which definitely makes him one of the players to watch out for. It’s going to be a very important series for him as it will decide his fate in the longest format of the game going forward.
