Every year, several talented youngsters come to the fore in Indian cricket, thanks to the emergence of the Indian T20 League. As a result of that, it’s very easy for a player to go off the radar after a few bad performances. There have been several instances of that in the last few years and, in this article, we will be talking about four such players:

4. Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal announced his arrival with a stellar season for Bangalore in the 2020 edition of the Indian T20 League. In 15 matches, he managed to score 473 runs at an average of 31.53. He followed that up with a similar season the next year.

He made his debut for India in the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Padikkal played 2 T20Is and scored 38 runs. The southpaw hasn’t gotten any chance to represent the Indian team, since. The upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League would be an opportunity for him to come back into the limelight.

3. Varun Chakravarthy

On the back of his stellar performances in the Indian T20 League, Varun Chakravarthy made his debut for India against Sri Lanka in 2021. He was also added to India’s squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2021.

However, he couldn’t live up to the billing and hasn’t been in the selectors’ scheme of things, since. In his international cricket career so far, the Indian spinner has played 6 T20 internationals and has 2 wickets to his name only.

2. T Natarajan

The left-arm pacer first came into the limelight when he was picked for Punjab for a whopping amount of INR 3 Crores in the 2017 edition of the Indian T20 League. Impressive performances in the domestic leagues helped him become the first Indian cricketer ever to make his debut for the Indian team across formats during India’s tour of Australia in 2022.

However, injuries have not helped him grow his international cricket career. Since the Australia tour, Natarajan was only played one international match for India.

  1. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is touted as one of the rising stars in Indian cricket. Shaw has been a force to be reckoned with in the Indian T20 League. He notched a sensational ton in his debut Test for India. However, despite scoring runs consistently for India in the domestic league, Shaw hasn’t been offered a lot of opportunities on the biggest stage.

He last played for India during the tour of Sri Lanka in July 2021. So far, in his cricketing career, he has only played 5 Tests, 6 ODIs, and a single T20 international for India.
