The star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently met a horrific accident as his luxury car badly crashed into a road divider on the Highway connecting Delhi and Dehradun. The incident happened near the Narsan Border. The 25-year-old was severely injured, but thanks to the efforts of a Haryana Roadways driver Sushil Kumar that Pant survived the burning car.
Coming back to cricket, Rishabh Pant was supposed to appear for Delhi as a captain in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League later this year in 2023. But with the recent developments in his health understand that it might take 3-6 months for him to recover from the damages that have been done after the accident.
With said that, here we’ll have a look at the three players who could lead the team in the absence of Rishabh Pant who is currently hospitalized after the accident.
Prithvi Shaw
The 23-year-old young batter Prithvi Shaw has proved his worth for Delhi on various occasions in the Indian T20 League. Apart from that, he had been in a terrific run of form within the domestic T20 cricket of late. The young lad has the potential of leading the team which he has shown a couple of times.
Since his debut in 2018, Shaw has appeared in 63 innings of the same number of matches in the Indian T20 League. In these matches, he has amassed 1588 runs with an average of 25.21 including 12 half-centuries to his name.
Considering an Indian captain for the team, Delhi management could eye him as an option to replace Rishabh Pant.
Mitchell Marsh

But he has produced brilliant stuff of game both with the bat and ball for the national team of Australia lately. Apart from that, his experience would be another area of profit for Delhi in this year’s upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League.
Marsh has played 29 matches in a 12-year-long Indian T20 League career with two half-centuries. His experience might work for Delhi to lead the team in the 16th edition of the cash-rich Indian T20 tournament.
David Warner
Senior Australian southpaw David Warner very long and celebrated career in the Indian T20 League since his debut 13 years back in the year 2009. The 36-year-old has played 162 matches and scored 5881 runs with an amazing average of 42.01 having four centuries and 55 half-centuries to his name.
