20-20 World Cup 2022: Five players who might attract high bids in 2023 Indian T20 League auction

The ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 has unearthed some of the talents around the world and the likes of Sikandar Raza, Josh Little, and others. While Raza proved his prowess with the ball and the bat, there were other players too, who made a statement in both departments.

With the Indian T20 League 2023 auction just around the corner, all franchises will have their eyes fixed on their target. As things stand, we decided to handpick five players who can attract massive bids in the upcoming auction. 

Here are the five players:

1) Sikandar Raza

Raza, the key player for Zimbabwe, proved his worth with the bat and the ball as the player racked up 9 wickets and is the joint 5th highest wicket-taker in the tournament alongside England’s allrounder Sam Curran.

With the bat, the star has gathered 185 runs in the tournament and with a match to come, it remains to see if he would end up as the highest run-getter, although the chance for it looks bleak. As things stand, Raza is one of the contenders to attract a massive bid in the upcoming mini-auction.

2) Lorcan Tucker

The Ireland wicketkeeper is in the form of his life and with 191 runs in the tournament, the batter is one of the highest run-getters in the tournament. For the unversed, with an average of 47.75, the star cricketer ranks third in the list of highest run-getters. 

With this blistering record, Tucker can hope for a bid in the upcoming mini-auction. If at all the youngster bags a bid, one can be assured that it is going to be a massive one. With one match to go in the tournament, Tucker can end up as the highest run-scorer of the tournament. 

3) Glenn Phillips

The New Zealand star hit the headlines of late on the back of his stupendous century against Sri Lanka in the ongoing showpiece event. After amassing 178 runs, the batter remains fifth in the list of run-getters of the tournament. 

With stupendous athleticism, the Kiwi star can contribute to fielding as well. With the franchises looking to fill in slots, Phillips can bag the highest bid in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023 mini-auction.

4) Kusal Mendis

Averaging around 34 in the tournament, Kusal Mendis is ranked second on the list of run-getters. Being a sole fighter for Sri Lanka in the ongoing showpiece event, Mendis has all it takes to attract a few high bids in the upcoming mini-auction. 

Opening the innings, the right-handed batter can give a blistering start for the team that he plays. To comment more on his form, the batter has amassed over 500 runs in the shortest format this year at a strike rate of over 130. 

5) Blessing Muzarabani

Blessing Muzarabani, who was with the Lucknow franchise as a net bowler in the 2022 edition, might as well make it to the main squad on the back of his stupendous performances in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Australia. 

With 9 wickets in the tournament, the fiery pacer is giving it all for Zimbabwe. As things stand, Lucknow will have their eyes on the auction as they would leave no stone unturned to get the bowler in their squad, even if it is for a high bid.
