It was a close fight in their third matchup, Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. In the main event of UFC 286 on Saturday, Edwards defeated Usman by a decision to keep his welterweight title. Although each of the five rounds was fiercely contested, Edwards prevailed by two judges' scores to establish a 2-1 series lead.

'Leon was striking Usman with harder blows' -  Kendra Lust

The fight was totally changed after Edwards was penalised for a flagrant cage grab on a Usman takedown attempt in Round 3. Throughout the fight, Edwards received multiple warnings, including once for a groyne strike and once for a glove grab, indicating that this offence was not isolated.

The contestants advanced to the championship rounds as the momentum fluctuated back and forth. As the minutes went by, Edwards appeared to grow weary. Yet it was a struggle, and the champion won. Before Round 5, Edwards took a deep breath. He then started the round with some powerful strikes that sent the crowd into a frenzy and allowed him to maintain his success from Round 4.

Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman in UFC 286 was, in fact, the bout of the night, according to Kendra Lust's response to Kelvin Gastelum's statement on Twitter. Kendra thought Leon was striking Usman with more and harder blows than she was.

Undoubtedly, Kamaru kept pressing forward. Leon, though, maintained his momentum and successfully executed the intended leg kicks on Kamaru Usman.
