It was a heartbreaking loss for South Africa as a huge crowd had come to witness the game in Benoni. Kwena Maphaka and Tristan Luus struck early blows to dent the formidable Indian batting lineup.

It was India who won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looked like a great wicket. It was the first Semi-Finals of the Under-19 World Cup as Raj Limbani made an immediate impact. The tall opening bowler got the wickets of Steve Stolk for 14 and David Teeger for a duck.

Lhuan Dre Pretorius (76) and Richard Selestswane then combined to bring the home team back into the game. The pair added a crucial stand of 72 runs for the third wicket before Musheer Khan struck.

The young spinner got the wickets of Pretorius and Whitehead to dent the South Africans. Naman Tiwari then got the wicket of Richard Selestswane to further push the hosts onto the back foot. South Africa ended with 244 on the board thanks to 24 by skipper Juan James and 23 by Tristan Luus.

Adarsh Singh was out in the very first ball of the chase as Maphaka bounced him out. It was the Tristan Luus show as he got three huge wickets for his side. Musheer Khan and Arshin Kulkarni were caught in the slips for 4 and 12 respectively. Priyanshu Moliya was out trying to drive a wide ball after having hit a boundary of the previous ball.

At this point, Sachin Dhas joined skipper Uday Saharan for a stand of 171 in just 185 balls. Maphaka came back into the attack and deceived Dhas with a slower ball for 96. Avinash Aravelly was out for 10 while Murugan Abhishek was run out for a duck.

Raj Limbani came out and hit a huge six to get off the mark and relieve the nerves. Uday Saharan was then run out for 81 with India needing just one. The winning hit came when Limbani drove the ball to the fence as the Indians ran out to the field with joy.
