The 40-year-old legendary women’s tennis star Serena William has made a big announcement for his fans. She has confirmed that she will no more be a part of the court after the U.S Open. She made announced her retirement recently through an article in a magazine which was published on Tuesday.

In this article, Serena has opened up about her plans of retirement from the game after one last appearance in the US Open which is commencing later at the end of this month. Notably, the youngest of the Williams sisters, Serena has gone through a lot of hard times to reach the apex of tennis. She witnessed the death of her two sisters and after that, she started playing tennis with her elder sister Venus Williams.

She talked in a detail about all his future in life and managing her love for tennis. The 23-time Grand Slam champion has expressed her desire to live a relaxed life ahead without any burdens of professional and personal life together.

“The countdown has begun, I’m gonna relish these next few weeks. In the last year, Alexis and I have been trying to have another child, and we recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family. I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out,” said Serena in the article published in Vogue Magazine.

“Unfortunately, I wasn’t ready to win Wimbledon this year, and I don’t know if I will be ready to win New York. But I’m going to try. And the lead-up tournaments will be fun,” she added later.

Williams won her last Grand Slam when she was playing even during her pregnancy during 2017’s Australian Open. She was eliminated from the first round of Wimbledon played in June this year.
