Twenty wickets already on Day 1, more to follow. Bowlers are simply having fun at the Newlands, Cape Town on Wednesday as South Africa and India lock horns in the second Test. If it was Mohammed Siraj who grabbed the spotlight in the first half, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi dominated the second half. From 153/4 to 153/10, the last 11 balls - W 0 W 0 W 0 0 W 0 W W. Team India suffered an unbearable collapse.

Siraj produced a similar kind of display that he did against Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. Asked to field first, India bowled out the hosts for just 55 runs in 23.2 overs. The Miyan magic demolished the Proteas batting unit as it accounted for six wickets for just 15 runs in 9 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also shone, picking up two wickets each.

Little did the visitors know they were about to get a taste of their own medicine until the 33rd over. They lost Yashasvi Jaiswal in the third over, but Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added a 50+ partnership for the second wicket. However, Nandre Burger came back into the attack and dismissed Rohit and Gill. The right-arm pacer did not allow Shreyas Iyer to open the account.

India had a lead of 56 with six wickets in hand at tea, with Kohli and KL Rahul looking pretty comfortable at the crease. Rahul was taking his time to be set, but one loose shot from him opened the floodgates. Ngidi dismissed Ravindra Jadeja and Bumrah in the same over.

With Kohli at the crease, India were hoping to add a few more runs to their first-innings lead, but Rabada removed the former and it was only a matter of time before South Africa completed proceedings. The veteran pacer claimed his third wicket by dismissing Prasidh Krishna. In a dramatic collapse, India's lead was reduced to less than 100 runs.

Here's how fans reacted to India's collapse in the first innings of the second Test:
