Gautam Gambhir opens up on his equation with Virat Kohli

Former India opening batter Gautam Gambhir has opened up about his relationship with former India skipper Virat Kohli during a chat with Star Sports India show recently.

It is no secret that Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir haven’t had the greatest of relationships in recent times. The two players had a huge falling out during the IPL 2023 game earlier this year in Lucknow.  The fight during the IPL 2023 season wasn’t the first time the two players had clashed.

During the IPL 2013 season when Gautam Gambhir was the skipper of KKR, he had a public falling out with Virat Kohli.  Over the last few days, the former India batter has been in the news for his answers during a chat. Gautam Gambhir was asked various questions to pick his favorite choices during which one of the questions was asked about Virat Kohli. It didn’t surprise the fans that Gambhir did not take Kohli’s name despite being in the option.

Gautam Gambhir sheds light on his equation with Virat Kohli – 

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir was on Star Sports India during the final ODI between South Africa and India. During the show, the 42-year-old was asked if he knew against which bowler Virat Kohli scored the important run to score his 50th ODI ton.

Gautam Gambhir had a smile on his face when he replied “Yaar aap baar.. baar mat dikhana, Mujhe sab kuch yaad rehta hai. Ladai meri sirf on the field hai”. The answer left a lot of fans happy considering the two were once India teammates.

Kolkata Knight Riders recently re-hired Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of the side. The two-time IPL winners won the bid to sign Mitchell Starc for a whopping INR 24.75 Crores. This made the Australian pacer the costliest player in the history of the league.

Speaking about the purchase, Gambhir said “Starc is an X-Factor, there is no doubt about that. Someone who can bowl with the new ball, bowl in the death overs, and more importantly, someone who can lead the attack”

Virat Kohli is set to be back for the Two-Match Test Series against South Africa which is set to begin on the 26th of December. Ahead of the series, Gautam Gambhir advised the former India skipper to bat with the same intent he has been showing in the past few months.
