2021 was a historic year for Indian sports as several athletes from different sports made the country proud. To honour their achievements, they will be facilitated with Padma Awards on Republic Day. A total of 9 sportspersons, including Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra, will receive the prestigious award. Chopra won the gold medal in Javelin in Tokyo last year.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur took to Twitter and congratulated the recipients. However, he made a huge blunder in his post. Thakur mistakenly tagged a different Neeraj Chopra instead of the original. The official account of Neeraj Chopra is @Neeraj_chopra1 but Thakur tagged Neeraj Chopra.

Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra took to Twitter and expressed delight in receiving the award. He thanked everyone for their blessing and promised to keep working hard to bring more glory to the country.
