Australia defeated Afghanistan by 3 wickets in Match 39 of the 2023 ODI World Cup. All-rounder Glenn Maxwell's sensational double hundred singlehandedly destroyed Afghanistan as it helped the five-time champions chase down a target of 292. Australia qualified for the semi-finals with 12 points, while Afghanistan needed to win their final match to stay in the hunt.

Team India won all 8 matches and became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. They are followed by South Africa in second position by 12 points after winning six out of eight games. Australia occupies the third spot, while New Zealand and Pakistan are in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
South Africa's Quinton de Kock tops the list of leading scorers with 550 runs including four centuries in eight matches. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madushanka, who has taken 21 wickets in eight matches, is currently the leading wicket-taker.
