The ODI World Cup 2023 is approaching towards the end. India and Australia are the last two teams aiming for the glory. 5. Most runs against Australia in World Cups for an Indian 

Australia has been the most dominating team in the history of the ODI World Cup. Against Australia, not many players have done well in the World Cups. That includes some of the best players in the world. For India, Sachin Tendulkar has the most runs against Australia in the World Cup. In 6 innings, Tendulkar scored 194 runs. Virat Kohli has 192 runs against Australia in the World Cups. There is a good chance of Virat going past Tendulkar in the regard.

Australia has produced some great batters in ODIs. David Warner is right up there among the bests in the format. In the World Cup 2023, Warner has scored 528 runs in 10 innings. Currently, Warner has 6925 runs in 158 innings in ODIs. The Southpaw needs only 75 runs to become the fastest Australian to score 7000 runs in ODIs. Ricky Ponting currently holds the record, as he reached the milestone in 192 innings. Hashim Amla is the fastest to the milestone, which took him 150 innings. 

3. Fastest to 1600 runs in ODI World Cup

Rohit Sharma has been in a phenomenal form in the World Cup 2023. The Indian captain has been aggressive with the bat and consistent in doing it. In 10 innings, Rohit has 550 runs at a strike rate of over 123. Rohit has crossed over 1500 runs in the World Cup history. In 27 innings in the tournament, Rohit has 1528 runs. The Indian opener needs 72 runs to break the existing record of fastest to 1600 runs, which is held by Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the milestone in 29 innings.

2. Fastest to 200 ODI wickets

Mohammed Shami has been claiming wickets for fun in the tournament. In 6 matches, Shami has 23 wickets in the tournament at a stunning average of just over 9.00. The Indian seamer currently has 194 wickets to his name in the ODIs. Shami needs to claim 6 wickets to become the fastest bowler to claim 200 wickets in ODIs. Mitchell Starc currently holds the record, who reached the milestone in 102 innings. 

1. Most wickets in a single edition of ODI World Cup

Mohammed Shami and Adam Zampa have 23 and 22 wickets respectively to their name in the tournament. The two bowlers are eyeing to set a new record for the most number of wickets in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. Mitchell Starc in 2019 had claimed 27 wickets. Shami and Zampa need 5 and 6 wickets respectively to break the record. If they can achieve it, the moment could be massive, given how difficult it is to claim wickets in ODIs these days.
