Former India opening batter Gautam Gambhirย has called out a leading media house for posting fake news. Apparently, the media house claimed that Gambhir had opined that if Virat Kohli was on 195, he would have taken a single. However, the two-time World Cup winner has refuted the claims and even called out the media house.

Notably, at the time of writing, the media house has issued an apology, and the former opening batter has acknowledged it

Meanwhile, during the India vs South Africa match last weekend, the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli posted a mammoth total of 326 runs on a turning wicket. In reply, the Proteas were bowled out for 83 runs, losing the game by 234 runs. After the game, Gambhir praised Iyer and Kolhi for their batting.

"I believe Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli batted on a different planet. This was not the Wankhede or Delhi where the conditions are easy throughout the innings. Here it was easy at the start and became difficult in the middle and at the end. So I believe both should be praised more than Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill," said Gambhir while speaking on Star Sports.

"Spin was going to be the biggest challenge. The way the two of them batted against Keshav Maharaj, he might have conceded just 30 runs but the important thing was that he picked up just one wicket, and because of that South Africa had to get their fast bowlers back," he added.
