Puneri Paltan made history after winning their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title by beating Haryana Steelers in the finals with a margin of 28-24 on Friday.

Puneri Paltan won their first-ever Pro Kabaddi League title on Friday. They won the final match of the season after beating Haryana Steelers in a tightly fought game. The two teams had made it to the final on the back of contrasting wins in the semi-finals.

Haryana Steelers beat Jaipur Pink Panthers in the 1st Semi-Finals. It was a close game but the Haryana side held their nerves to win 31-27. It was a game where the nerves played a key role as Jaipur lost their momentum. 

Puneri Paltan broke no sweat when they easily went past the challenge from three-time winners Patna Pirates. The entire season Pune has played outstanding Kabaddi to prove why they are the worthy winners of the season.

Just as the final hooter was sounded Puneri Paltan touched the mat with emotions running. The powerhouse team made their fans proud by winning the first-ever Pro Kabaddi League title on Friday. 

The final margin was 28-24 as the Haryana Steelers had to settle for the second spot. While the score may look close but the fact was that Pune had dominated the proceedings right from the start. 

The first three Raid Points belonged to Pune before Haryana got two points back. The two teams continued to trade blows in a bid to take the upper hand. Pankaj Mohite though swung the tide in favour of Pune with a four-point super raid. When the half-time buzzer was sounded, Haryana was on 10 points trailing Pune by just 3 points.

During the second half, Pune began going for the opposition defenders and had Haryana all-out. This took the score to 18-11 with just under 15 minutes left to play. Haryana kept picking points but more crucially Pune were also keeping their 7-point lead safe. 
In the dying moments of the match, Siddharth Desai came into the raid. The raider made an immediate impact by getting a super-raid. With time running out that was the best Haryana could do as Pune won the game and the title.
