Saturday, the 8th of October witnessed three nail-biting thrillers on day two of season nine of the Pro Kabaddi League. Patna Pirates crossed swords with Puneri Paltan in the fourth match of the tournament. In the fifth match of the tournament, Gujarat Giants and Tamil Thalaivas locked horns with each other followed by an interesting clash in the sixth match between Bengal Warriors and Haryana Steelers. All matches were played at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.

The first match of the day between Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan ended up in a nail-biting tie as both teams finished with the same number of points. Interestingly, the second match of the day also ended in a tie as Giants and Thalaivas couldn’t cross the line to win the match and this draw also ended in a tie.

Just after the conclusion of these two matches, the third and last match of the day was played between Bengal Warriors and Haryana Steelers. In this match, Haryana Steeler ended up on the winning note with the final score line of 41-33 in their favor. Haryana started their campaign with a win in their first match of season nine.

Patna Pirates’ Sachin ended up as the player with the highest number of seven successful raids to his name. Paltan’s Mohit Gayat and skipper Aslam Inamdar jointly finished second with six successful raids each.

Highest Individual Successful Tackles

Patna’s right-corner defender Sunil and Thiyagarajan Yuvaraj jointly finished with the highest number of successful tackles by tackling successfully three times each.

Star raider Rakesh achieved 10 successful raids for Gujarat Giants with ended up as the highest individual number. Thalaivas’ raider Narendra finished second after Rakesh with nine successful raids to his name.

Highest Individual Successful Tackles

Sahil Gulia of Tamil Thalaivas finished with the highest number of four successful tackles followed by his teammate M. Abishek at the second number with three successful tackles.

Match 3 – Bengal Warriors vs Haryana Steelers

Highest Individual Successful Raids

Haryana’s star raider Manjeet stunned everyone with his stellar performance in the third match of the day against Bengal. He finished with the handsome stats of 12 successful raids and a successful tackle to his name. Bengal’s skipper Maninder Singh finished second with nine successful raids on his credit.

Highest Individual Successful Tackles

Girish Maruti of Bengal ended on the losing side but he also finished as number one in defenders with six successful tackles. Just behind him, Haryana’s defender Mohit was second with three successful tackles.

Result of the Match – Haryana Steelers won with a difference of eight points in their favor.
