The anticipation surrounding Pant's return received a positive boost as former India captain and Delhi Capitals' Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, announced that the wicketkeeper-batter is set to be declared fully fit.

Pant, who last played international cricket before a car accident on December 31, 2022, led the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Ganguly affirmed that Pant had diligently worked towards regaining fitness, and the  National Cricket Academy (NCA) is expected to grant him clearance.
