Team India has suffered a huge setback before the second test match in Visakhapatnam starting on 2nd February. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are out of contention for the game. It is a huge loss with the home team 1-0 down in the series after the loss in Hyderabad.

Saurabh Kumar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Washington Sundar have been named as the replacements. It is a welcome call-up to the squad for Sarfaraz Khan who has been in good run scoring form.

The addition of Saurabh Kumar and Washington Sundar will add depth to the Indian squad. Both players are brilliant spinners and can also bat well lower down the order. The loss of KL Rahul will come to haunt India as he was one of the top scorers during the first innings.

Team India reeling under pressure due to injuries –

On Monday, there was massive bad news for Rohit Sharma ahead of the second IND vs ENG Test. Star players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja will not feature in the second Test match in Visakhapatnam.

Indian Cricket Board released a statement about the two players. “Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on day four of the first Test in Hyderabad while Rahul complained of a right quadriceps pain”

The statement also read “The medical team is monitoring the progress of the duo and the men’s selection committee has added Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar to India’s squad”

Sarfaraz Khan recently scored 161 runs during the India A vs England Lions match. The 26-year-old has been in good form for the past few years in India’s domestic circuit. When the team was announced for the first two Tests many fans were angered when the youngster wasn’t named in the squad

24-year-old Washington Sundar returns to the Test team after nearly three years. His last appearance in the whites was against England in 2021 during the final test in Ahmedabad. Sourabh Kumar is yet to make his Test debut and the 30-year-old has been performing consistently in domestic cricket.
