In the third T20I of the five-match series, India and Australia locked horns at the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. Ahead of the game, the Men In Blue had a 2-0 lead in the series. One more win and the home side would have taken an unassailable lead in the series. On the other hand, the Aussies needed a win to keep the series alive.

Meanwhile, once again, the visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first, given the dew at the venue. They had a good start with the ball as Kane Richardson and Jason Behrendorff took one wicket each of Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal respectively. At 24/2, the likes of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad put together 57 runs for the third wicket.

Yadav (39) played decently before becoming the debut wicket of Aaron Hardie. Meanwhile, after his wicket, the likes of Tilak Varma (31*) and Gaikwad (123*) put together an unbeaten 141 runs in just 9.4 overs. The latter hit his first T20I hundred and became the first Indian to do so against Australia.
