After India lost the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia, the Men In Blue have managed to dominate the ongoing five-match T20I series.

In the third T20I of the five-match series, India and Australia locked horns at the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. Ahead of the game, the Men In Blue had a 2-0 lead in the series. One more win and the home side would have taken an unassailable lead in the series. On the other hand, the Aussies needed a win to keep the series alive.

Meanwhile, once again, the visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first, given the dew at the venue. They had a good start with the ball as Kane Richardson and Jason Behrendorff took one wicket each of Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal respectively. At 24/2, the likes of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad put together 57 runs for the third wicket.

Yadav (39) played decently before becoming the debut wicket of Aaron Hardie. Meanwhile, after his wicket, the likes of Tilak Varma (31*) and Gaikwad (123*) put together an unbeaten 141 runs in just 9.4 overs. The latter hit his first T20I hundred and became the first Indian to do so against Australia.

In reply, the T20 World Cup 2021 winners had a good start with 66/2 in 5.4 overs. India's nemesis, Travis Head hit 35 off 18 balls while Hardie (16) also played a few shots. First-match centurion, Josh Inglis (10) was cleaned up by Ravi Bishnoi. At 68/3, the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis put together 60 runs although the latter struggled with the bat. On the other hand, Tim David became the second victim of Bishnoi to reduce them to 138/5.

With Matthew Wade and Maxwell being the last recognized pair, they not only made sure to stay till the end but also helped the team win the game by five wickets on the last ball of the game. In the last couple of overs, they needed 43 runs and managed to get those runs with Maxwell (104*) scoring his another T20I hundred.
