India’s Rohit Sharma lost his cool on Mohammad Nabi during the final T20I game between India and Afghanistan on Wednesday. The entire incident happened during the first Super-over. After missing the last ball, Rahmanullah Gurbaz went in for a quick single.

Seeing this, Sanju Samson decided to throw it to Mukesh Kumar, who didn’t collect the ball as the ball rolled to Virat Kohli the Afghan batters took three crucial runs after hitting Mohammed Nabi on the pads. This is when Rohit Sharma was seen arguing with the veteran Afghan.

According to the Indian skipper, the ball had hit Nabi on his leg, and the two runs shouldn’t be counted. The batter though maintained his innocence as the umpires had to intervene. This meant Afghanistan had scored 16 runs in the first Super Over despite losing a wicket in the first ball.

Rahul Dravid comes out in support of Mohammad Nabi –

After all the drama that happened between Mohammad Nabi and Rohit Sharma, it was Rahul Dravid’s turn to chime in. India’s Coach spoke to the media after the game and the questions were asked about the incident.

Rahul Dravid said, “No, it’s fine, It’s part of the game. It can be frustrating if you are on the receiving end but it’s okay, it happens. I think you can run for those. There was an incident in the first match where I think it hit the bat of one of our batters and we ran a run. Nothing in the rules that stops you from running those runs.”

It was an exciting game as two super overs were played in front of a capacity Bengaluru crowd. During the second Super Over, India managed to score just 11 runs before losing their two wickets. 

Ravi Bishnoi was asked to bowl and help India to the win. The young spinner struck with his very first ball when he dismissed Mohammad Nabi caught by Rinku Singh for zero. The match was all over two balls later as Rahmanullah Gurbaz was out. It was the same Bishnoi and Rinku combination that won the game for India.

Rohit Sharma earlier scored his fifth T20I century to become the batter with the most centuries in this format. The 36-year-old had scored two ducks in the previous two games. On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma scored 121 not out off 69 balls with 11 fours and eight huge sixes.
