It was yet another series win for India as Shivam Dube helped India cross the line versus Afghanistan on Sunday. Post his match-winning knock, the 30-year-old was in conversation with broadcaster Jio Cinema.

Shivam Dube said, “This credit goes to the CSK team and Mahi Bhai. I always had the game but, what CSK do is take the game out of that game from a player. So they have given me the confidence. They told me I could score runs in the IPL and that they believed in me. The likes of Hussey and Fleming said they have faith in me and I could do what they wanted.”

It was also revealed by Shivam Dube how MS Dhoni’s one advice changed his entire career. “When I was with CSK, he (MS Dhoni) told me that I could bat well. But he told me to be smart. So, I focused on my limitation and what I could do well,” he added.

Speaking about Rohit Sharma, the 30-year-old said, “The skipper is really happy with my performance. My role was to take on the spinners, but our plan was to both attack and finish the game early. There wasn’t any target in mind, but we should have finished the game earlier.”

Skipper Rohit Sharma was in praise of Shivam Dube at the end of the game. “Dube is a big guy, very powerful and can take on the spinners. That is his role and he has come out and played two crucial innings for us,” he continued.
