Blast to hold Rainbow Six major in UK

Upcoming BLAST Rainbow Six (R6) Major is set to take place in Manchester, England. This will be the first time the United Kingdom will hold a R6 tournament.

The event will take place in Manchester’s BEC Arena from May 24 to May 26. Twenty Rainbow Six Siege teams will be pitted against each other in front of a live audience. The tournament will feature a massive prize pool of $750,000.

Prior to the major, teams will qualify for the finals through qualifying matches that will run from May 16 to May 22. Matches will be held privately and top twenty teams will move to the grand finals.

The Blast R6 Major will feature eight teams in the opening stage, Phase 1. Matches will be played as best-of-three in a double elimination bracket. Four teams will move to Phase 2 where they will join 12 more teams in a Swiss bracket.

Phase 3 will be held in front of live audience in the BEC Arena, Manchester. Matches will also be streamed live on Blast channels on Twitch and YouTube for international audience. Fans in Manchester can buy tickets and see the game live.

Before the major, the iconic Six Invitational in Rainbow Six esports is also set to take place in February. The event will be held in São Paulo, Brazil and will run throughout February 13 to February 25.

The event will also feature a massive prize pool of $3 million. Last year’s Majors saw w7m as winners, who also secured second position in the R6 Invitational. Fans sure have high expectations from them for this year too.
