The 35-year-old senior formula 1 racer Sebastian Vettel has finally decided to hang his boots from international racing. After having a 15-year-long celebrated career, the Heppenheim-based superstar will no more visible on the track in action after the end of this season. Vettel took to Instagram to declare his retirement from

Formula 1.

Vettel is the very player who won all the championships when he was in association with Red Bull during the period of 2010-2013. With 53 Grand Prix titles, he is on the third spot in the all-time list of champions.

The veteran of 290 race entries also talked about his career and his experience while announcing his retirement. He also praised the people with whom he worked together. Notably, this will be the 15th full season for Vettel on the track of Formula 1. Vettel also mentioned his experience with Aston Martin.

“I have had the privilege of working with many fantastic people in Formula 1 over the past 15 years – there are far too many to mention and thank, said Vettel. Over the past two years, I have been an Aston Martin driver. Although our results have not been as good as we had hoped. It is very clear to me that everything is being put together that a team needs to race at the very highest level for years to come,” said Vettel in his statement.

“I have really enjoyed working with such a great bunch of people. Everyone – Lawrence , Lance , Martin , Mike , the senior managers, the engineers, the mechanics, and the rest of the team – is ambitious, capable, expert, committed and friendly, and I wish them all well,” he added later.

Later on, he also talked about his decision to retire and his planning for the near future. Vettel stressed the fact that it is time spend some moments with family.

“The decision to retire has been a difficult one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it. At the end of the year I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next; it is very clear to me that, being a father, I want to spend more time with my family,” the 35-year-old concluded.
