India took on Cambodia in the AFC Asia Cup qualifier match on Wednesday at Salt Lake Stadium. Prior to the start of the game, a bizarre incident took place when both the teams lined up for national anthems. As per the rituals, before the start of any game in football, both teams line themselves up for their respective national anthems.
However, a technical glitch left Cambodian players extremely disappointed. The players prepared to recite the national anthem in unison, however, following the announcement, nothing got played for a few minutes. And, after a brief period, India’s national anthem was played instead of Cambodian’s. This didn’t go down too well with the Cambodian players as they were left completed surprised.
