Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to make a positive start to his career at the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr. As of now, he has played two matches and failed to score in both clashes. Ronaldo made his debut against Ettifaq on 22 January 2023. His team won the match 1-0 but he failed to register his name on the scoresheet.

Then, on 26 January, Al-Nassr took on Al-Ittihad in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup. But, Al-Ittihad defeated Cristiano Ronaldo’s side 3-1 and knocked them out of the competition. So, it was another devastating match for the Portuguese superstar as Ronaldo failed to score once again. Now, a video has gone viral where Al-Ittihad fans were seen chanting Lionel Messi’s name to tease Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking of the video, Cristiano Ronaldo was seen leaving the field after that loss along with his teammates. While he was going to enter the tunnel, fans were heard saying ‘Messi, Messi’ to tease him. Global football fans know the rivalry between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi over the years.

Hence, Al-Ittihad fans knew how to treat the Portugal superstar during the match. Speaking of the match, Romarinho scored the opener for Al-Ittihad in the 15th minute while Abderrazak Hamdallah doubled the lead in the 43rd minute. Then, in the second half, Talisca managed to pull a goal back in the 67th minute. But, in the 90+3’ minute, Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti scored the third goal and thus, the match ended 3-1.

After the loss, Al-Nassr’s manager, Rudi Garcia claimed that the missed opportunities from Cristiano Ronaldo are one of the main reasons behind that defeat. He said: “One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano Ronaldo’s missed opportunity in the first half. I congratulate Al-Ittihad. They presented a much better first half than us, and we played a good second half, but unfortunately, we were not able to adjust the result.”
