The sports fraternity was left stunned when the news of Lionel Messi leaving his childhood club Barcelona came to light. The Argentine star broke down during his final news conference and was handed a tissue paper by his wife Antonella Roccuzzo .

The tissue which Messi used to wipe his tears was picked up by someone in the audience who has now put it up for sale for a whopping USD 1 million. The seller in his description wrote the tissue contains Messi’s genetic material’ and can be used to ‘clone’ a new version of Argentina captain.

Messi, who was roped in by Paris Saint-Germain will play alongside some of the icons of football, including Brazil star Neymar and France World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe. The club reportedly is paying a whopping sum of 5 million euros ($41 million) net annually.

Messi had become the most desirable free agent after Barcelona declared they can’t afford Messi due to the La Liga play rules.

“Leo wanted to stay at Barca. We wanted him to stay. I want to thank everyone that has been in the negotiations. There were lots of aspects that needed to be negotiated. He is the best player in the world and has other offers, of course. After all of this process, there comes a moment where you have to say ‘enough’. You have to analyse it and look at the numbers.

In La Liga we have to abide by the rules. We think they could be more flexible, but that is not an excuse. We couldn’t abide by it. Leo deserves everything. He has proven that he loves Barca. He has his roots in Barcelona. I’m sad but I’m convinced we have done the best for the interests of Barcelona,” Barcelona president Joan Laporta said

Post Messi’s exit, PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino approached Messi for a contract to which he agreed. Messi has won all his major trophies with Barcelona. PSG will be hoping that Messi along with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe can help them regain the French title.
