Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Lionel Messi, Argentina on emphatic Copa America triumph

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday congratulated Lionel Messi and Argentina for winning the Copa America title. Argentina defeated Brazil to clinch the final. Tendulkar shared images of the Argentina team celebrating and hailed them for a historic win. He also praised Leonel Messi and added that the win is an “icing on the cake” for the ace footballer.

Tendulkar urged Messi to continue inspiring everyone with his unbelievable skills on the football pitch. "Heartiest congratulations to @Argentina on winning the #CopaAmericaFINAL. The former cricketer also had some comforting words for Brazil star Neymar, who could not control his emotions after a heartbreaking loss.

The Copa America win was special for Messi and Argentina as it ended their 28 year long title drought. Argentina last won a major trophy (Copa America) in 1993. Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders also wished Messi and Argentina on a magnificent win. They shared images of the Argentina team and captioned the post as “ The 28-year drought comes to an end.

Starting for just the second time in Copa, Angel Di Maria dodged a goal to give Argentina a 1-0 win over Brazil and a record-equaling 15th Copa America. Messi had a stellar tournament and finished with four goals, joint highest with Brazil skipper Neymar.
