Neymar Jr suffers freak injury during PSG’s game against Saint-Etienne

Paris Saint Germain look set to miss their Brazilian star Neymar Jr for the next few months. He suffered a freak injury during the match against Saint-Etienne on Sunday and had to be stretchered off the field as well. Nevertheless, PSG won the game easily by 3-1 margin continuing to stamp their authority at the top of the points table.

Neymar Jr got injured in the 84th minute of the match when a player of the opponent team ran and dived on the ground in order to get hold of the ball from him. During this incident, Neymar lost his balance and twisted his ankle in the process as well to go down in excruciating pain.

PSG’s number 10 was visibly in pain and tears and literally had to be carried off the field on the stretcher. There is no idea yet on the severity of the injury but Neymar look set to miss PSG’s next game against Nantes on Wednesday. He was taken for scans after the end of the game and the club is yet to release an official statement on the injury of their star player.

A few hours after the game, Neymar also posted the pictures of his injury and reassured his followers of coming back stronger than ever from the injury. The same game also witnessed yet another star player Sergio Ramos making his debut for the club. As far as the Ligue 1 Points table is concerned, PSG are sitting pretty at the top with 40 points and are ahead by 12 points of the second placed team Rennes who have 28 points.
