Manchester City’s talismanic midfielder Bernardo Silva has attracted transfer interest from Saudi Arabia as Al Hilal are reported to have offered a monster contract to the Portuguese. If he accepts the offer and Manchester City agree on a transfer fee, Silva could join the likes of Karim Benzema, N’golo Kante, and others to join the Saudi Pro League.

The 28-year-old won every competition possible with Manchester City in the recently-concluded 2022-23 season. The 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul squared off a dream season for Silva and City. Now, the Portuguese has signalled his intention to leave the club. He remains under contract until 2025 at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City are willing to felicitate the midfielder’s transfer and is placed under a price tag of £75m, per 90 mins, a price that would be an easy steal for the Saudi club.

Bernardo Silva prefers a move to a European Club over Al Hilal

Sources suggest that Bernardo Silva has already been proposed personal terms for Al Hilal that could see him earn around £80m every year which accounts for an astounding figure of £ 220,000 a day. Despite the lucrative paycheck, Silva would prefer to stay in Europe. And, there are a few clubs expected to compete for his services.

FC Barcelona happens to be the player’s preferred destination. However, given Silva’s wage structure at City, PSG aside no other European club would be able to give the Portuguese a hike. Moreover, the situation at Camp Nou remains uncertain. Reportedly, the player's camp has had talks with Luis Campos, including Silva himself taking part in the talks.

Silva has prior experience playing in the French League with the infamous Monaco team that defeated PSG for the league title in 2017. His exceptional stint then earned him a £43.5m move to Manchester. Talking of City, they will have to replenish their midfield. Their captain, Ilkay Gundogan is seemingly on his way to Catalonia to play with FC Barcelona. Now if Silva leaves too, City will move to the market for midfielders. Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic will reportedly join Pep Guardiola’s men and City are also monitoring the situation of Declan Rice.
