Kerala Blasters FC and ATKMB locked horns in the 10th match of the Indian Super League 2022. The hosts Kerala fielded a lineup of 4-4-2 on the field whereas Mohun Bagan went in the middle with a lineup of 3-4-3. It can be said that it was completely a day for the visitors’ side as they thrashed the KBFC to gain all three points and register their first victory in the tournament.

Although Kerala Blasters dominated most of the statistical parts in the match when it was about scoring goals, ATKMB gave no chance to Kerala and eventually ended up on the winning note in the match.

Having said that, here we’ll have a look at all the action that happened between the two teams at Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The match kicked off with the first whistle from referee R. Venkatesh. It took only six minutes for Ivan Kalyuzhnyi to open the account of goals for the Kerala Blasters. But the home side could maintain this lead only for the next 20 minutes as Australian attacking midfielder Dimitri Petratos had some other plans on the day. Petratos came up with a stunning equalizer to level the scores in the favor of Mohun Bagan.

Just 12 minutes after this stunner, Joni Kauko smashed the second goal and increased the lead for ATKMB. Then came the domination from the visitors’ camp as Dimitri Petratos smashed his second goal of the match in the 62nd minute of the match. Although, Rahul KP put his efforts to compensate the things for Kerala by scoring a goal in the 81st minute of the match.

But this compensation couldn’t work much longer for his team and Mohun Bagan’s Lenny Rodrigues smashed the team’s fourth goal in the 88th minute of the match. Finally, to add some salt to the wounds of KBFC, the 29-year-old Petratos stunned everyone with his third individual goal in the match. Eventually, ATK Mohun Bagan finished the match with a handsome score line of 5-2 in their favor.

ATKMB won the club award and Petratos undoubtedly won the ‘hero of the match award for his excellent and match-defining performance in the match.
