As things stand, Belgium and Morocco locked horns in the Group F match of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 on November 27, Sunday and both teams put on a great show at Al Thumama stadium. To add more to the first half, both teams remained 0-0 at the stroke of the first-half whistle and it looked like the game could go either way, given both teams looked equally fierce on the field.

Morocco almost took the lead in the extra time after the 45th minute, before it was called off by the match referee, to restrict the scoreline to nil for both teams. Eventually, it was Morocco who looked weak on the stats paper as they struggled to keep the possession right throughout the first 45 minutes.

As far as the second half is concerned, Belgium bounced back and eventually started dominating the game right from the start of the whistle. The Red Devils brought in two substitutions at the 60-minute mark, and fans hoped that it would pay off as Morocco’s defenders made it hard for Belgium forwards to get one past the goalkeeper, Munir Mohand Mohamedi.

Concerning the campaign openers, Belgium faced off against Canada on November 24 and emerged victorious with a scoreline of 1-0, taking 3 points home. Morocco, on the other hand, settled for a draw after fighting it hard against Croatia on the same day. While the Red Devils were the toppers of the Group F points table, Morocco were ranked second, before the start of the match, making the two, the favourites to make it through to the Round of 16.

To add more to the Sunday battle, Morocco’s Abdelhamid Sabiri produced the lead for the country in the 73rd minute, backed up by Zakaria Aboukhlal in the extra time post-90-minute mark and the team won the game against Belgium with a scoreline of 0-2.
