Manchester United haven't really been at their best of late. They have only been able to gain one point from their last three games. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the few positives for them. The legendary footballer has once again lived up to his reputation.

He has scored 17 goals in the 2021-22 season so far, and has been United's diamond in the rough. Besides, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that he has carried his side. However, he has had to deal with an off-field issue as well.

Just a day before United's game against Liverpool, Ronaldo had lost his newborn son. Recently, he gave an emotional tribute to his late son. After scoring a goal against Arsenal, CR7 dedicated it to his son, who had unfortunately expired. Coincidently, it was also his 100th Premier League goal.

Ronaldo's partner Georgina Rodríguez took to Instagram to share a picture of his celebration. She captioned it with a heart emoji. Thus, it instantly went viral. It is to be noted that this was the only goal scored by the Red Devils during their game against the Gunners.

In the meanwhile, United's interim manager Rangnick had heaps of praises for the Portugal star. He was very pleased with Ronaldo's current form. Moreover, he felt that his troops showed a good fight as they only had 13 players from the professional side.

“Not only the goal Cristiano scored but his whole performance, his attitude at the age of 37, this is not normal to do that. If he plays like he did today he can still be a big help to this team. It was a good point for us. In the first half, Chelsea dominated the game. You can see that they have top players and are well organised, and it’s not so easy to get hold of them.

“Of course, we were missing eight players in total, so we only had 13 players from the professional team available and bearing that in mind, I thought we showed a good attitude, at least in the second half," said Rangnick.
