This move of his was considered to be a game-changer for Saudi Arabian football with fans opining that it was unwanted for the legend to play in the country when he could have preferred the Premier League clubs.

Having played for Manchester United prior to this, Ronaldo had a dismal 2022 with nothing going right for the veteran. From losing his child to being rested for Portugal’s quarter-final game in the FIFA World Cup 2022, the legendary star had to undergo too many beyond his capabilities in the past year.

Beginning his career with Manchester United, Ronaldo played for clubs like Juventus and Real Madrid before heading back to Old Trafford. It is well documented that all of these moves happened on the back of his super agent Jorge Mendes. However, reports emerged from El Munda, a Spanish publication on January 25, Wednesday, that the player gave an ultimatum to his manager to find a way to land at Chelsea or Bayern Munich.

The reports claimed that it was Ronaldo’s ‘Chelsea or Bayern Munich’ demand that caused a rift between him and Mendes, as neither of the teams came forward to sign the veteran Portugal star. To add fuel to the fire, Ronaldo gave an interview with Piers Morgan about the Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag and the management, causing shockwaves across the country.

Leading up to this was a rupture between Ronaldo and Mendes, who are no longer working together anymore, as per the reports. As far as his game-changing move to Al-Nassr is concerned, it was Ronaldo’s close friend Ricky Regufe who helped him and one could understand that it might be the end of the Ronaldo-Mendes era.
