England created history by reaching their first-ever Euro final. The ‘Three Lions’ defeated Denmark 2-1 at Wembley on Wednesday to book their berth in the summit clash for the first time in 55 years. England had a slow start to Euro 2020 but picked up the momentum in the latter stages of the tournament. The Harry Kane-led side defeated heavyweights Germany in their final Round of 16 game before crushing Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter-final. This is England’s first final appearance of any major tournament since 1996, when they won the World Cup beating Germany 4-2.

Meanwhile, there was jubilation and excitement all over the country as people celebrated the remarkable victory. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan and several other cricketers lavished praise on Harry Kane and the team for an astounding win.

Mikkel Damsgaard had given Denmark the lead but an own goal from Danish skipper Simon Kjaer in the 39th minute meant that the scores were equal. The score stayed 1-1 for the remainder of the 90 minutes before Harry Kane dodged the winning goal in the 104th minute.

Vaughan, an avid football fan, posted a series of tweets showing his excitement over a magnificent win.

“This England team are very very likeable. All seem like high-class individuals led by a proper guy in Gareth but now it’s all about winning whichever way it takes. I really don’t care which way. Just WIN," stated Vaughan

Other England players like Jason Roy and Sam Billings also celebrated England's win on social media.
