The 15th edition of the FIH Hockey World Cup has kicked off with the inaugural match between Argentina and South Africa. A total of four matches were played on the opening day of the tournament including the fourth one between the hosts India and Spain. The first day of the 2023 edition of the World Cup was filled with a number of massive goals. Be it Australia against France or England against Wales.

Interestingly, all four losing teams couldn’t even open their account of goals. The list started with South Africa in the first match till Spain in the last match of the day including France and Wales in the second and third matches respectively.

England’s Roper Phil in a field goal in the 41st minute of the match followed by his teammate Bandurak Nicholas in the 57th minute of the match.
