Ayan Ali, Playground 2 Gaming Star shares journey from Civil Engineer to Competitive Player

In a world where gaming has become mainstream entertainment, it's not surprising to see young individuals who've taken up the hobby seriously and made it a career. One such person is a young civil engineer who found himself in the gaming world after an injury put him on bedrest. With a newfound passion for gaming, he's now making waves in the competitive gaming industry.

Meet Ayan Ali, who was a wild card entry into Playground Season 2 sat down for a candid interview with Business World earlier and talked at great length about his journey and his ambitions.

Ali started his gaming journey as a casual hobby while working as a civil engineer for the government. He never thought it would turn into a career until he was injured and bedridden. That's when he started hearing about the popularity of PUBG and decided to give it a shot. He started playing competitively and eventually found success, leading to content creation opportunities.

"I wanted such a chance to showcase myself and slowly the windows opened which helped me move up the ladder of the competitive world from early tournaments. After event qualifications and merging connections with streaming and competitive stuff, Mortal gave me a shot to pursue this further, which took me off and got me started in this new life."

Ali talked about acceptance of his profession by his father as one of the bright spots of his journey so far.  Despite the many opportunities that came his way, the journey wasn't always easy. "With the ups and downs, I reached a place for feeling happy about my work and achievements. My dad is pleased with the things I do in my day, which by good graces has pushed me further into the gaming world with great satisfaction to continue on my stature in the competitions. I've checked and learned many things from quitting my job and taking a year off to prove myself to get a sense of accomplishment within the gaming industry, " said Ali.

Big break in Playground 2

Ali recently got the chance to participate in Playground Season 2, which has only motivated him to try harder and reach the position he wants. "We had a wild card entry in Playground Season 2 that motivated us to try harder to reach the position we wanted, which excites my competitive nature."

When asked about his mentors, he had nothing but praise for the people who have helped him along the way. "I had amazing mentors and through great connectivity, within the world, I became stronger from CarryMinati's rise to MortaL's love."

As for the future, our Ayan Ali has high hopes and expectations. "This season I expect and hope the best for everyone from my choice to pursue wins and growth to the community's strength to keep expanding and giving their best as I will also."
