The Queen of England confirmed to miss opening ceremony of Commonwealth games 2022

The Queen Of England is confirmed not to be attending the Commonwealth Games 2022 which will start on July 28 in Birmingham. Buckingham Palace, which is in the host city of the multi-sport, has confirmed the development. In her place, Prince Charles will be present to kick off the event next week. He will be joined by the Duchess of Cornwall, who will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.

After the speech, Duran Duran will perform in front of billions of television audiences and 35,000 spectators in the revamped Alexander Stadium. Notably, Charles will also read a message from the Queen. The message will be carried to the event in the Commonwealth Games Baton. It is to be noted that the United Kingdom is hosting a multi-sport event after the 2012 Olympics.

Members of the royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Royal, and Earl and Countess of Wessex, will also visit various events at Birmingham.
