Sehwag captioned the video of that controversial decision as, “Penalty miss hua Australia se and the Umpire says, Sorry Clock start nahi hua. Such biasedness used to happen in cricket as well earlier till we became a superpower, Hockey mein bhi hum jald banenge and all clocks will start on time. Proud of our girls.”

Here's Sehwag's tweet:

Speaking of the match, then the Australian team took a lead only in the first quarter of the match when Rebecca Greiner scored a brilliant field goal for her team. This goal made Australia take a lead of 1-0 in the match. With their continuous brilliance and game excellence, Aussie players continued this lead till the last quarter of the match.

But it was the fourth quarter of the game when Vandana Kataria smashed an excellent goal to level the score with 1-1 for India. Her goal ended up the full-time match in a draw which led the match to a penalty shoot-out to come up with a result for both teams.

Notably, it was the first time in the tournament when the Australian team conceded a goal against their opponent.

During penalty shoot-out, the women in blue fell short by a difference of three goals to the Australian side. The Hockeyroos finally won the match with a score line of 3-0 in the penalty shoot-out against India.

Apart from the score line and action of the match, the match also earned controversial headlines for a decision from the referee in the favour of the Australian team. There was a time when an Australian player missed the chance but after the end of the effort, the referee went on to inform that the timer was not working properly.
