It was quite an even day for both Australia and England on day two of the ongoing 5th match of the Ashes series at the Oval. At the end of the day, the Aussies got bundled out for 295 runs and managed only a lead of 12 runs. Steve Smith was the star as he scored 71 runs off 123 balls.

But, during the 78th over, he survived on a controversial run-out call and regarding that, the England pacer, Stuart Broad shared an interesting chat with the on-field umpire Kumar Dharamsena. Speaking of the incident, Smith had a full stretched dive to save himself but initially, he started to walk back to the dressing room. But, later. Replays showed that the England wicketkeeper, Jonny Bairstow hit the stumps with the gloves before collecting the ball. So, Smith survived but fans went crazy after hearing Dharamsena’s interesting take on the incident.

Steve Smith was the lone batter with a fifty in the innings

The umpire came up with a chat regarding zing bails and that left fans thoughtful. While speaking to reporters, Broad said: "I honestly don't know the rules. I think there was enough grey area to give that not out. It looked like benefit of the doubt sort of stuff, first angle I saw I thought out, and then the side angle it looked like the bails probably dislodged. Kumar said to me if it was zing bails it would been given out, I don't really understand the reasoning why."

Meanwhile, Smith also shared his views and said: "I saw the initial replay and saw the bail come up, and when I looked at it the second time looked like Jonny might have knocked the bail before the ball had come," he said. "Looked pretty close at that stage, if the ball had hit at the initial stage when the bail came then think I was well out of my ground."
