“There is a massive difference in the quality of batting” - Zaheer Khan after Pakistan’s 61-run defeat to India

Former Indian spinner and commentator Murali Kartik has stated that there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan in cricket anymore, adding that there is no comparison between the two sides at the moment.

Speaking exclusively on Cricbuzz, the former cricketer reckoned that there are no consistent players in the Pakistani batting line-up. Moreover, he took a dig at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for not producing good talent as the Indian Premier League (IPL) does.

"There might be rivalry in terms of history and the relationship between the two nations, but this is not a cricketing rivalry. There is no comparison at all," Murali Kartik said on Cricbuzz.

"When you look at Pakistan's batting line-up, who is there to fear? You usually fear batters more than bowling in T20s, but in Pakistan, after Sahibzada Farhan, there is nobody, and even he is not consistent. There is no one that can hurt oppositions. People are saying that PSL is a good tournament and all, but are players coming out of there? Because the IPL always produces players," the former spinner added.

On the other hand, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan asserted that there is a huge difference in skills and batting quality between India and Pakistan. Additionally, he had his say on Pakistan’s frontline pacer, Shaheen Afridi, not bowling his full quota of four overs.

"There is a massive difference in the quality of batting. If you lose a couple of early wickets, and all-rounders are coming out to bat, who are not proper batters. There is also a huge difference in terms of skill. You cannot balance towards spinners so much. You played one frontline pacer, even he did not bowl four overs," Zaheer Khan said on Cricbuzz.

India bagged a 61-run victory against Pakistan to secure the Super Eight qualification, topping the group stage with three consecutive wins.
