Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has reacted to his ex-wife and influencer Dhanashree Verma’s allegations about his infidelity. Verma made such allegations on the show Rise and Fall.
In a program part, his ex-wife, dancer and content producer Dhanashree Verma is shown conversing with another candidate, implying that Yuzi cheated on her only two months after they married. In response, the internet did what it does best: it captured, judged, and enlarged the moment.
Yuzi describes his ex-wife's charges as unfounded and exhausting.
“I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat. Agar koi two months mei hi cheat karta toh itna lamba relationship chalta kya? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved forward with my life and everyone else should do, too,” he said as per Hindustan Times.
He adds, “Hamari shaadi 4.5 years thi. Agar two months mei cheat hua hota toh kaun continue karta? Mai pehle bhi bol chuka hun ki mai past se nikal chuka hun. But some people are still stuck there. Abhi bhi kai log uss cheez ko pakde hue hain, abhi bhi unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai toh they can continue doing that. I am not concerned or affected. And I have a feeling this is the last time I am addressing that chapter of my life.”
Yuzvendra Chahal was part of India’s ICC T20 World Cup winning squad, but didn’t played one game in the tournament. His last game for India was a T20I match against West Indies in 2023 in Lauderhill.
Yuzvendra Chahal has said that he has closed this chapter of his life
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma got married in 2020 during Covid relaxation. They had met through common friends and got hitched after short time of dating. However, they began living separately in 2023 and filed for divorce in 2024.
A Bandra court confirmed their separation in March this year, with Yuzvendra Chahal reportedly playing more than 4 crores as alimony to Dhanashree Verma.
“Mai iss chapter ko bhula chuka hun. Koi kuch bhi keh deta hai, and social media pe chal jata hai. 100 baatein chalti hain, but the truth is only one, and those who matter, know it. Mere liye chapter closed hai. I don’t want to address it ever again,” adding, “I am focusing on my life and on my game,” the 35-year-old leggie stated.
“I am single and not looking to mingle right now," laughs the player of the Punjab Kings squad.
