Former India cricketer Yusuf Pathan has been ruled out of the remaining games of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The star batter was the icon player for Chennai Braves. Fans were expecting Yusuf to set the stage on fire. However, the batter did not bat even once in the tournament. He played the first game but didn't get an opportunity to bat. In the remaining games, he was not part of the playing XI.
The official Twitter handle of the franchise revealed that Pathan has been ruled out of the tournament due to the injury he sustained in the first game. "Our Icon Player - Yusuf Pathan has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament due to an injury sustained in the first match. We wish him a speedy recovery," read the statement.

Meanwhile, Chennai Braves are having a torrid run in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. They are the only team that are yet to win a game. While the players like Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka and Angelo Perera have scored some runs, their strike rates have been questionable. As a result, the team has not been able to post above par scores. Had Pathan fit and played, he could have provided the firepower the team needed in final overs. He could have also contributed with his off-spinners and added a lot of depth to the team.
Yusuf announced his retirement from all forms of the game in February this year. However, he came out of retirement to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Unfortunately, his stay with the team was curtailed due to an injury.
