Following their meeting, which went viral on social media and the internet, a young lookalike fan of Virat Kohli has shared his experience with the Indian star.
Virat Kohli lit up Vadodara with a touching encounter with a tiny doppelgänger prior to India vs. New Zealand's first ODI. While exercising at BCA Stadium, the 37-year-old hitting maestro stopped to sign autographs for enthusiastic young admirers.
Among them was a youngster known online as "Mini Virat" who resembled young Kohli in terms of piercing eyes, jawline, and attitude. With a beaming smile on his face, Kohli exchanged laughter and posed for pictures. At the same time, his fist-pump went viral, garnering millions of views.
Before netting sessions, Kohli welcomed the commotion when he arrived on January 7 amid throngs of fans. Additionally, Kohli met a child who reminded him of his early years while interacting with young fans. Memes and full-fledged conversations began as soon as the similarity was noticed on the internet.
Kohli was spotted grinning at the child and took a photo with him. The tiny child recently shared his encounter with the Indian celebrity.
In an interview with the media, he described how he had a great time hanging out with a number of Indian celebrities. The child also disclosed that he enjoys "Style and Aura" by Virat Kohli.
"Maine ekbar unka naam liya. Meri taraf dekha and Hi kaarke bola ki 'thodi der me aata hoon'. Virat Kohli fir Rohit Sharma se bol raha tha ki 'oye udhar dekh mera duplicate baitha hai', Chhota chiku bol raha tha. (I called with his name once and after saying Hi, Kohli told me that he is coming to meet in a moment. Then he turned to Rohit Sharma and said 'look my duplicate his sitting there'. They were calling me Chhota Chiku)," the kid said.
India captain Shubman Gill asked New Zealand to bat first in the opening ODI in Baroda, and they achieved 300/8 in 50 overs thanks to half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell, Devon Conway, and Henry Nicholls.
India won the match by four wickets after Shubman Gill scored 56, Virat Kohli scored 93, and Shreyas Iyer scored 49. In the three-ODI series, India led 1-0. The second ODI will take place in Rajkot on January 14.
