Legends League Cricket started with the first match between World Giants and India Maharajas. Giants skipper and former legendary South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis won the toss and decided to bat first at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Batting first, Giants managed to post a total of 170 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
While chasing the target, India Maharajas scored 175 runs for the loss of four wickets in 18.4 overs and won the match by six wickets. Speaking about India Maharajas, former legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is leading the team in the tournament.

Discussing a bit more about the match, then the opening pair of former veteran Irish batter Kevin O’Brien and Hamilton Masakadza provided a strong start of 50 runs for the first wicket in 5.3 overs. O’Brien smashed a brilliant knock of 52 runs off just 31 balls with nine boundaries and a six to his name.
Other than him, Denesh Ramdin scored 42 runs off 29 balls with five fours and a six on his credit. Pankaj Singh scalped five wickets while bowling for India Maharajas.
While chasing the target, India Maharajas scored 175 runs for the loss of four wickets and crossed the line in 18.4 overs. Tanmay Srivastava and Yusuf Pathan scored valuable half-centuries with respective individual scores of 54 and 50 runs respectively. Eventually, the Indian side won the match by five wickets.
Former English pacer Tim Bresnan scalped three wickets by conceding 21 runs in three overs. Former Indian pacer won the award of player of the match for his excellent bowling performance as he scalped five wickets by conceding just 26 runs in his quota of four overs.
